Beside him, laying eyes wide open into hell, the monster is dead. He feels a cough coming up, and he refrains it, knowing that it will tear up even more of his insides and hurt like a thousand knives. He just wants to hold to consciousness a little longer to feast his eyes on the dead body beside him.
